The firm was founded in 1945 by Rex S. Emerick and Merritt W. Diggins. After Rex’s passing, his son R. Stan Emerick, joined the practice in 1950, and Daniel F. Diggins, Merritt’s son, joined the practice in 1972 after completing law school. 

Dan is a highly skilled litigator with nearly 50 years of trial experience, representing clients in criminal defense, family law, real estate and property issues, and general civil suits. Dan was named one of the Top Lawyers in Northeast Indiana by Business People Magazine in 2010. 

Dan served in the US Army from 1969 through 1971. Dan is married to Nancy. They have two adult children and two grandchildren. In his spare time Dan enjoys traveling, golf, and boating.
